Strange Days

These are strange days we live in

Strange days indeed…

Money changers

Power mongers

Control freaks

Spin doctors

Ignoring the hunger on our streets

These are strange days we live in

Strange days indeed…

Sex Scandals

Torturers

Political pawns

Famine

Flash Mobs

Riots & Revolutions

Burning cities

Occupation against Corporate greed

These are strange days we live in

Strange days indeed…

Tsunamis

Earth quakes

Floods

Hurricanes

Solar Flares

Aurora in Arkansas

October snow on brightly colored autumn leaves

These are strange days we live in

Strange days indeed…

Wake up…His wrath is quickly drawing upon us…don't you see?

To absorbed in Facebook, Twitter and Reality TV

You won't see it coming … there won't be time to flee

Turn off the distractions … get down on your knees!

'Cause these are strange days we live in

Very strange days indeed!

Open up our hearts and minds Lord to your tender mercies for all of us to share

Give us your strength and courage so we might bear

Witness to your love in the midst of these strange days we live

This darkness will be shattered by the shining of your light

Be not afraid of these strange days my children, stay prayerful, stay diligent, stay forthright.

May I Be Last

"So the last shall be first and the first shall be last."

Is it the Wall Street banker or the suspicious IMF chief?

Is it the reality TV star distorting our children with fancy pretty pettiness as our cultural belief?

Is it the starving child in Somalia clutching her bloated belly waiting for your Angels to take her pain away?

Is it my brothers running amok in streets brandishing their fists with guns as shields of their insecurities every day?

"So the last shall be first and the first shall be last."

Is it billionaires who's tax breaks can feed thousands of people for hundreds of days?

Is it political pundits that wage vicious class wars as a game on a national stage?

Is it those who struggle daily with your laws and commands?

Is it those who want to listen yet live without conscience or care for our fellow man?

May I be last My Lord?

May I be your servant to walk in your ways…

To be first means less for my brothers and sister that would stand behind me;

To demonstrate unity…we can walk side by side

May I be last; to call for strife and division, to call to arms, to lock down, to lock out, to shut up, to shut in, to imprison indiscriminately

May I be last; to agree, to stand silently, to look the other way, to hope it never happens to me.

May I be last My Lord?

May I be last to walk away…

To be first, only shows my back to my brothers and sisters.

To demonstrate unity…we can walk side by side

May I be last My Lord…may I be last.

For when we all enter your gates…the last, will be the first...to celebrate!

And They Left Amazed

That He says we should live our lives righteous and just

That He loves everyone equally, just as He loves us

Amazed

That His rule is to love our neighbor as we love ourselves that's why He died

That we open our hearts and our minds to respond to the smallest cry

Amazed

That we give to Caesar without guilt or shame

That we give our treasures joyfully to build our sanctuary in His name

Amazed

And they left amazed

Amazed

That His love and wisdom …we must sacrifice in our lives in some way

That He touches our hearts in meditation, when we pray

Amazed

That Our Lord is compassionate, bringing all to His arms to rejoice

That Our Lord no false airs, nor put ourselves above others by choice

Amazed

That Our Lord's strength is in His Mercy and Forgiveness…this is true

That Our Lord forgave them for they know not what they do.

And they left amazed

Amazed
